EMENIKE wary of stubborn Liberia

Spartak Moscow of Russia’s striker,Emmanuel Emenike has cautioned Nigerians to be wary of the antics of the Lone Star and not get carried away with the first leg advantage. 

You have been in awesome form in the UEFA Champions League with your Russian club, Spartak Moscow, what is responsible for such awesome display?

It was okay and I have been trying my best but I won’t say we were pleased with the two results we have got thus far. I scored two goals against Celtic and played well too against Barcelona but the fact that we lost those matches despite putting all that we got made us unhappy. They were really crazy games for us.

You played in the first leg in Monrovia and have seen the way they played, where lies their threat ahead of the return leg?

The main thing is that we need to be very careful. We need to go out and work and play hard because if we start undermining these guys they may come out and surprise us and so we need to be very careful and work very hard in the pitch on Saturday.

Does that mean that victory songs should not start yet?

Yes! We just have to go out there and give our best. We should not say that we are already in South Africa when the game has not been played. We have to play well.

About a year ago you were in that team that failed to qualify Nigeria for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations after the surprise draw against Guinea. What lessons have we learnt from that episode?

It was a crazy one at that moment. I was devastated and my head was virtually down. I think this time we are going to make it because it is my dream to play at the Africa Cup of Nations. It is our time and nobody can stop us.

STEPHEN ORIZU dazzles in Turkey

Nigerian born attacker Stephen Orizu was the star of the day last Sunday as he dazzles his club to 3-1 win emphatic victory in the Turkish lower league.

"At every point in life, there is need to be thanking God, yes, I thank him for what he has done and what he will do."

PAUL OBIEFULE urges Eagles to 'kill' Liberia

Former Super Eagles midfielder, Paul Obiefule urges the Super Eagles team to improvw on their 2-2 draw in Monrovià and go all the way to beat the Leone stars silly in Calabar to grab the 2013 Nations Cup ticket.

Nigeria need atleast 1-0 to be part of the party to 2013 Nations Cup in South Africa, and Obiefule who was part of the 2006 Nations Cup bronze medal in Ghana said the image of the invited players is at stake and the only way to redeem their image in the country is to beat Liberia on Saturday.

"Without doubt, Liberians are coming to give Eagles big fight. It's going to be a tough game," Obiefule predicted.

"But the only I think the team can deal with them is to remain united on the pitch and keep the focus. I can bet my money that Nigeria will qualify with lots of goals, if only there will be focus and patritism.

"We should also understand that there are no small team in Africa again, and this must be the reason why they needed to be focus and stay in harmony.

"We don't need draw, it will be a great result for us to get three points at home, and looking forward to the tournament."

CHIBUIKE backs Mikel, Emenike for Eagles breakthrough

Rosenborg midfielder John Chibuike back Super Eagles duo, Emmanuel Emenike and John Mikel Obi to get their best performnace for the national team and shock the critics in the media.

The 23 year old playmaker who dream the Norwegian league title disclosed that both players have what it takes to shine for Nigeria particularly against Liberia and silence the bad report for their national team performances.

"At times, it could be difficult to adjust to national team style, and I think that is the work of the coach to be able to access the problems if a player is playing better for his club and get flop for national assignment," Chibuike explained.

"Mikel is a world class player if you will agree with me, he has the chance to play in any team in the world and he plays better for Chelsea every week." I pray he will have a better day in the national team."

Speaking further on Emmanuel Emenike who has been consistently banging goals for his Russian club and yet to score more than a goal for the national team.

He possess everything striker need to be deadly and that is working him in Russia, I think we need to understand ourselves better in the national team. But the ultimate one is to help Nigeria qualify for 2013 nations cup." 

BABATUNDE Michael loving Kryvbas life

Babatunde Michael has revealed he feels right at home in Ukraine and vow to keep improving on daily basis to achieve his dream in football.

The talented left winger dubbed 'African Messi' is undoubtedly a future star for the Nigeria national team and has been a regular starter for Kryvbas who sit 11th position on the Ukrainian tòp league table.

The 19 year old whizkid was invited by former Dream Team V coach, Austin Eguavon to replace injured Nnamdi Oduamadi during the 2012 Olympic qualifier against Tanzania.

"I always feel at home here, especially seeing my country brothers around me," said Michael.

"Before I joned Kryvbas, I always have the fear of surviving in Ukraine due to the language and culture but it takes me no time before I adapt to their life.

"The breakthrough started from the training ground where I showed my coach what I am up to, my team mates as well also contributed but seeing Nigerian players around each other is always like home.

"As a footballer, you must be able to adapt to different life you find yourself and I think that is the only way to succed in this game, and I am very much happy and relax in Ukraine."

"I am here to be a successful player, to prove myself at every given chances and get the fans support."

"My coach always believes in me and I am happy to keep the faith he has, I have a lot to give and to improve on."

EMENIKE turns prayer warrior over Liberia

Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike has turn to prayer warrior over the Super Eagles clash against Liberia for the 2013 Nations Cup ticket in Calabar on Saturday.

Emenike who banged two goals against Celtic in the UEFA Champions league remains calm over the Super Eagles game this weekend and also tasks every Nigerians to pray for the team against ill-luck.

"We need prayer because prayer answereth all problems, Liberia match is a problem that we need prayer to tackle," said Emenike.

"There is positive faith in me that we will qualify but faith without prayer is vanity, so I am praying for myself and for the whole team to have a good day."

"I don't care who score, for me, I am not desperate for self glory in this kind of match but if God want it to be my day, it's a pleasure."

"I always wanted to score for my country and I don't need to be under presure to do that, its just a matter of being there at the right time to score the goals and maybe I have not been there yet but I will try more."
